Kusarigama unlock and first-use guide · Ghost of Yōtei

Find Enomoto, get past the training targets and build a simple response to shield users.

Find Owl Mountain in northern Teshio

Obtain the Kusarigama through Enomoto’s The Way of the Kusarigama on Owl Mountain in northern Teshio Ridge. Check that sensei tale after entering Teshio. Push Square corroborates the northern location and quest.

If your story route brings you near the teacher, consider making weapon acquisition your next short objective. This article avoids the story’s resolution and focuses on the introductory training and your first use of the weapon.

A resistant training target is not a shopping list

During the cold-related training sequence, follow the movement and bathing instructions before attacking the targets again. Do not immediately interpret the initial failure as an upgrade-material shortage.

Holding the weapon during a lesson is also different from finishing the tale and retaining it. Read the current objective, including any remaining dialogue or travel step. Looking for materials in another region before resolving the lesson can turn a local instruction into a needless detour.

Answer shields while watching the surroundings

The Kusarigama addresses shield users and groups. After unlocking it, begin with one shield-bearing opponent and observe how your attack decisions change when you switch to this weapon.

A wide-reaching attack should not be mistaken for protection against every enemy response. Our suggested exercise is to check the surroundings, perform a short action, then reassess your position. You do not need to stand in the middle of a large group to begin learning its role.

Split the follow-up into separate objectives

The Path of the Kusarigama includes rescue and shrine-related objectives plus learning a Kusarigama technique at an altar. Do not assume that winning a fight completes every condition; inspect the remaining journal entries.

If the route is open but progress remains, check interactions, rescues and technique selection separately. Removing one incomplete condition at a time is more useful than searching for another enemy without knowing what the quest is waiting for.

Your first post-unlock check

It is tempting to learn every new move at once. Instead, choose one basic action to use against a shield, then decide what you want your next technique purchase to improve. The aim is a usable routine, not a claim that this weapon solves every encounter.

  • Did you finish Enomoto’s introductory tale?
  • Did you check the current cold-training objective?
  • Have you selected a first action against a shield user?
  • Did you separate rescues, interactions and technique learning in the follow-up?
