Bounties for upgrade money: accept, investigate, and collect · Ghost of Yōtei

Prepare a bounty trip, read its clues, remember the reward step, and reserve enough money for the next outing.

Check both the target and the payment

Ordinary bounties come from regional inn boards or Kojiro the broker. After dealing with a target, confirm that you have collected the reward. Special jobs can come directly from Kojiro, so do not inspect only the board before leaving.

Set one spending goal first

This is an editorial budgeting suggestion. Pick one upgrade you currently need instead of collecting money without a purpose. Check its present vendor price and note the shortfall; that gives you a useful basis for route and spending decisions.

Consider leaving enough for the consumables needed on your next trip instead of spending the full reward immediately. No fixed percentage is necessary. Base the reserve on how heavily your usual approach uses arrows or tools.

Make the return journey part of the route

Review several available targets before chasing the nearest marker. Plan the return as well as the outward trip. These principles can be applied to the actual targets shown in your game.

  • Treat departure point, target area, and return inn as one route.
  • On reaching the search area, reread the job and inspect nearby clues instead of immediately chasing every enemy.
  • If a long side tale intervenes, decide whether to pursue it now or note it for later.
  • At the inn, check rewards and new dialogue before choosing your next upgrade.

A wanted poster is not always a kill order

Some posters lead to friendly weapon teachers. Takahashi the Yari Master is one example; do not treat his poster like an ordinary enemy bounty. Poster counts, rumors, and completed bounty totals are not interchangeable.

Guide sites may include different encounters in an ‘all bounties’ list. Before assuming something is missing, match the name and quest type, then check the game’s completion record.

If the target or money seems missing

First confirm that you accepted and tracked the intended job. Work through conversations, traces, and documents inside the search area. After combat, check whether you collected payment or the quest advanced to another stage. A special job may not follow the standard report sequence.

This plan covers normal base-campaign progression. It is not an infinite-respawn farm or a promise of a fixed income per hour.
