Bounty Master Armor is tied to the Soma the Condemned bounty in Yotei Grasslands. Work through the region’s bounties and check Kojiro’s dialogue. After winning Soma’s duel, complete his final shamisen request to receive the armor.

What you give up

The armor supports perfect-parry and perfect-dodge timing, adds follow-up counters after a perfect parry, and increases Spirit gains. Regular parries are disabled. The wider perfect window alone does not make this a universally forgiving starter armor.

Suggested setup: room for a mistake

Our editorial suggestion is to use Father’s Charm for perfect-parry healing if you own it, then consider health or healing support in other slots. When timing is inconsistent, stacking only offensive bonuses can leave you with a build that works only after an already successful defense.

Divide duel practice into three passes

This is a practice plan for comparing your attempts, not a fixed pattern chart for a particular boss. Read the attack cues and movement in the current encounter.

• First, reduce damage greed and distinguish attacks to defend against from those to evade.
• Next, attempt a perfect parry against one attack you recognize. Do not extend that confidence to an unfamiliar chain.
• Once consistent, add counterattacks. An available follow-up is not a reason to force every remaining swing.

When to change armor

If the habit of using ordinary parries causes repeated hits, remove the armor and rebuild your defensive rhythm. Separate a repeated timing error from a misread attack type; each calls for a different adjustment.

Being surrounded and hit from outside the camera is not solved solely by a timing bonus. Try the armor in a controlled duel first, and prioritize space or a survival setup in crowded fights. This is a base-campaign option, not a claim that every player will find it easiest.
