Planning New Game Plus: cleanup, carryover, and new rewards · Ghost of Yōtei

Decide between post-story cleanup and NG+, while keeping first-run upgrades separate from the additional currency and progression.

Scope and unlock requirement

This guide covers single-player campaign NG+. Introduced in update 1.100.000 in November 2025, it becomes available after finishing the main story. Older launch guides saying NG+ is unavailable are out of date. That number identifies the introduction patch, not the latest patch today.

Legends classes, equipment values, and rewards from separate modes are outside this checklist. For an item you want during your first campaign, use a first-playthrough guide instead.

Audit what you are carrying forward

The current official page lists gear, upgrades, cosmetics, resources, and collectibles as retained. NG+ is selected from the title screen after story completion.

Before beginning, note your main weapons, armour, and charm setup, and keep the original completed save when possible. Your notes give you a comparison when checking the new run. If you have several saves, read the selection screen carefully so you know which progress you are using.

Keep first-run and NG+ costs separate

Re-completing previously finished objectives in NG+ rewards Ghost Flowers for a dedicated vendor. Additional equipment upgrade tiers are also available. A first-run material table should therefore not be treated as the price list for every NG+ upgrade.

Compare your current currency, the next upgrade’s displayed requirements, and the change in effect before spending. We do not publish unverified fixed prices or an alleged infinite-material route here. Choose one desired reward before farming; that makes the purpose of the trip and the budget clearer.

Choose replay or a new story run

The update also added post-story replay to the base campaign. The current official page describes map-based replays of challenge content and duels.

If you only want to practise one opponent, inspect the replay options on your completed save first. If you want the story journey again with developed equipment, NG+ better matches that aim. Choose one priority—cleanup, duel practice, or story replay—before deciding how to spend the next session.

Keep separate records for each run

This website’s completion ticks do not automatically detect a new game cycle. Export the existing record before resetting it, and include the run in the filename. A known location from the first campaign and an activity actually completed again are different records.

Finally, pick a small objective for the new run: finish the opening region with a different equipment combination, or reduce mistakes in a difficult duel. A clear combat goal can make repeated play more purposeful than trying to purchase every new item and clear every marker at once.
