Why stop at a wolf den?
There are 10 wolf dens, and completing one earns a point for wolf techniques. Our recommendation is to visit dens near your current route. If one duel is blocking progress, a long trip across several regions is less useful than choosing an improvement you can reach and understand now.

Discovery is not completion
Investigate the den, follow the wolf, and finish the enemy encounter it leads you to. Where wolves are caged, check that you have freed them as well.
Only tick a location off on this website after the reward or completion sequence. Save a merely discovered location for later instead. This keeps a promising lead separate from an activity you have actually finished.

Keep a plan that works without the wolf
The wolf is not a permanent companion you summon like your horse. Improvements can increase the chance of support, but its arrival should not be the condition your survival depends on.
- Before entering, identify ranged enemies and a clear escape direction.
- When the wolf engages someone, keep your position against the remaining enemies rather than rushing into the middle.
- Retain room to dodge, defend, and recover if no help appears.

Choose skills around your own habits
Read a new technique’s trigger before spending the point. An impressive effect attached to an action you rarely use may contribute less than a modest effect you understand. Pick a technique that fits your approach, then deliberately practise its trigger during a familiar type of camp encounter.
Do not judge a chance-based effect from one or two fights. If repeated attempts still feel confusing, reread the condition before changing your entire equipment setup.
Use a short regional checklist
Yotei, Ishikari, Tokachi, and Teshio each have two dens; Nayoro and Oshima each have one. Remaining dens can be completed after the story.
Show only wolf dens on the map, hide completed locations, and choose one close to your next story destination. That gives each journey a useful detour without turning the entire session into repeated cross-map travel.
